About the role#
Regency Centers is seeking a Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting Intern for the spring 2027 semester. This role is based in our Jacksonville, Florida office and provides exposure to REIT, partnership, and corporate taxation within the commercial real estate industry. You will report directly to the Vice President of Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting. We expect a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week for 12 to 15 weeks, starting in January 2027. This position supports our team during the peak year-end close and SEC filing period.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation and tie-out of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
- Perform footing checks, tie supporting schedules to financial statements, and process edits in Active Disclosure.
- Support the corporate accounting team with month-end and quarter-end close procedures.
- Prepare equity method and non-controlling interest schedules, as well as partner and joint venture financial statement packages.
- Build and refresh Excel analyses, including variance and fluctuation analysis, using Spreadsheet Server.
- Gather support for internal control testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior at an accredited 4-year college or university.
- Declared major in Accounting or Finance with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Completion of at least one intermediate Accounting course before the internship begins.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, functions, and pivot tables.
- Reliable transportation to and from the office during working hours.
- Professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to handle non-public financial information with discretion.
- Preferred qualifications include coursework in financial statement analysis, auditing, or real estate, prior internship experience, and exposure to general ledger or ERP systems.
