About the role#
RedHelm is looking for a Managed Services Intern to provide hands-on, entry-level support. You will work as a shared resource across our service desk and specialty services teams. This role focuses on learning foundational MSP operations while providing direct assistance to our clients. You will report to a program lead and follow established processes to ensure consistent service delivery.
What you'll do#
- Complete support tasks assigned by the program lead.
- Check in daily with the program lead and PMO regarding coverage needs.
- Handle Tier 1 tickets, prioritize tasks nearing SLA deadlines, and escalate issues outside of your scope.
- Assist the Specialty Services team with moves, adds, changes, and deletes.
- Perform user tasks like password resets and account updates.
- Provide on-site smart hands support at client locations.
- Create and update documentation for client onboarding.
- Record all steps, resolutions, and communications in our ticketing systems.
What you'll need#
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to stay professional under pressure.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail for documentation and ticket notes.
- Ability to follow defined processes and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A willingness to learn, accept feedback, and develop technical skills.
- Troubleshooting knowledge for Windows and macOS.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, cloud identity platforms, and TCP/IP networking.
- Experience supporting business applications, VPN clients, and virtual desktop environments.
- Knowledge of security fundamentals like MFA, password hygiene, and endpoint protection.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Positions are on-site in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania or Atlanta, Georgia.
- You may need to travel to client sites periodically.
