About the role#
Red Gold is looking for a Product Development Intern to join our team in Elwood, Indiana. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship offered on a rolling basis. You will work directly with our product development team to support the creation of new food products and the improvement of our current offerings.
What you'll do#
- Participate in product ideation, scoping, and the development of new items.
- Produce batches of formulas, prototypes, and samples.
- Conduct analytical testing on prototypes, including measuring pH, viscosity, brix, and color.
- Design and run sensory panels to evaluate product attributes.
- Organize, report, and analyze testing data to provide insights on prototypes.
- Monitor market samples across various product categories.
- Manage project timelines and provide regular status updates to the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and conduct research to support development projects.
- Assist in creating technical documentation and product specifications.
- Maintain laboratory equipment through daily calibration and general upkeep.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Food Science, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency with computers, specifically MS Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
