About the role#
Join the engineering team at RBC Bearings as a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op. You will support our production unit by researching and resolving operating issues while helping to develop new standards for equipment and tooling. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the Dodge safety program.
- Create and improve manufacturing processes using automation, 3D printing, robotics, gear hobbing, induction heat treating, CNC programming, and tool design.
- Implement best practices to improve production rates and output quality, including reducing scrap and downtime.
- Use Lean and Six Sigma principles for daily problem solving.
- Plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to boost efficiency.
- Support the quality department by developing inspection methods and evaluating reliability data.
- Attend engineering meetings and contribute to projects involving new tooling and materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university studying Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch regularly.
- Capability to lift or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
