About the role#
Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in East Hartford, Connecticut. You will support the Engine Design and Systems Integration team, focusing on Model Based Systems Engineering for propulsion programs. U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
What you'll do#
- Develop systems engineering models to support program requirements.
- Derive and analyze requirements while defining system logical and physical architectures.
- Define system interfaces and develop verification plans.
- Conduct trade studies.
- Interface with engineering leads and cross-functional teams to provide progress updates.
- Participate in internal and customer technical reviews.
- Ensure engineering best practices are followed and comply with standard work procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to remain enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous internship or co-op experience within the aerospace and defense industry.
- Familiarity with systems engineering concepts or prior roles in the field.
- Experience with SysML or UML tools such as IBM Rhapsody or Cameo/Magic Draw.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
