About the role#
As a Systems Engineering Co-op, you will work across engineering disciplines to support the lifecycle of complex avionics products. You will gain insight into how projects progress from initial requirements and architecture through design, integration, verification, and qualification. This role involves learning how engineering teams align on technical challenges and turn them into executable plans.
What you'll do#
- Develop and refine system and product requirements with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Define verification methods, test cases, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
- Integrate hardware and software while performing hands-on testing in an avionics laboratory.
- Investigate technical problems that cross system, hardware, software, firmware, and test boundaries.
- Participate in technical reviews to help teams evaluate design alternatives and engineering tradeoffs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or graduate degree program in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Active enrollment status through the completion of the co-op session.
- Foundational engineering problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience or coursework in systems engineering, requirements development, embedded hardware or software, electronics, digital logic, or microcontrollers is preferred.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB is preferred.
- Familiarity with automated testing or data analysis is preferred.
- This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Person.
