About the role#
As a Systems Engineering Co-op at Raytheon Technologies, you will work across engineering disciplines to see how complex avionics products progress from initial requirements through design, integration, and verification. You will learn how engineering teams turn technical challenges into executable plans and how systems engineers keep multidisciplinary teams aligned. This role is available for the Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Develop and refine system and product requirements with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Help define verification methods, test cases, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
- Integrate hardware and software and perform hands-on testing in an avionics laboratory.
- Investigate problems that cross systems, hardware, software, firmware, and test boundaries.
- Participate in technical reviews and help teams evaluate design alternatives and engineering tradeoffs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or graduate degree program in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Active enrollment status through the completion of the co-op session.
- Foundational engineering problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience in systems engineering or requirements development is preferred.
- Experience with embedded hardware or software, electronics, digital logic, or microcontrollers.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB.
- Experience with automated testing or data analysis.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by federal regulations.
