About the role#
This Systems Engineering Co-Op position is a full-time opportunity based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role spans the Summer and Fall 2027 terms. You will work on-site at the Collins Aerospace facility. This position requires you to be a U.S. Person.
What you'll do#
- Capture requirements from aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).
- Decompose and allocate requirements to specific domains within Collins Aerospace.
- Create test procedures to verify and validate requirements.
- Support the creation and completion of certification artifacts.
- Assist with customer inquiries and investigate hardware or software issues.
- Conduct root cause investigations for issues found during flight tests and in-service operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree or higher program in a STEM discipline, continuing through the end of the co-op.
- Academic background in requirements capture, definition, integration, and verification and validation testing.
- Basic experience in an aerospace engineering development environment.
- Familiarity with tools such as DOORS, JIRA, JAMA, or similar data capture software.
- Knowledge of data bus tools like A429 and A664 readers.
- Experience with the AGILE framework.
- Working knowledge of Python or C++.
