About the role#
This position is for an RTX intern converting to a full-time hire upon graduation. You will join the Engineering Development Program, which includes three rotations over 2.5 years to build technical breadth and depth. The role focuses on engine systems functional understanding and validation through analytical tools and data acquisition.
What you'll do#
- Provide engineering support for development engine tests and functional validation.
- Develop test and analysis plans, including instrumentation requirements coordination.
- Create pre-test predictions, test procedures, and methods.
- Manage and validate test data while performing first pass post-test analysis.
- Complete test reporting and documentation.
- Provide on-site and remote test coverage.
- Collaborate with Systems Analysis Groups, Module Centers, Controls, Instrumentation, IT, and Product Validation Groups.
- Participate in discipline improvement activities and knowledge management.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Science and Technology, obtained by the start date.
- Experience in a mechanical or aero test environment or engine data analysis, gained through work, research, coursework, or projects.
- U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program.
- Results-oriented mindset with strong teamwork, communication, and analytical thinking skills.
- Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Previous engineering internship experience is a plus.

- Location: East Hartford, Connecticut.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- This position requires occasional off-shift and weekend work, as well as travel to engine test sites and partner locations.
