About the role#
The Advanced Measurements Research and Development group is looking for an intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work at our Middletown, Connecticut facility to support the development of measurement techniques and diagnostics. These tools help verify the structural integrity of gas turbine engines for commercial and military applications.
What you'll do#
- Develop sensors and design electrical systems.
- Handle hardware and software design, including assembly.
- Perform bench testing and monitor test progress.
- Develop algorithms for data analysis.
- Install instrumentation and generate technical reports.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or Physics.
- Active student status through the end of the internship.
- Experience with CAD software like Unigraphics or NX.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Python.
- Ability to design circuit boards and perform soldering on surface mount and through-hole components.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
We prefer candidates with previous engineering internship experience, particularly in the aerospace industry. Experience with technical group projects or prior work with RTX is also a plus.
