About the role#
As an Engineering Intern for the Transmission Line team, you will work with engineers and project managers to design and maintain high-voltage transmission infrastructure. You will gain hands-on experience with engineering methods used to support the electric grid.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, and structure analysis.
- Support drafting and mapping tasks using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or ArcGIS.
- Perform engineering calculations such as sag-tension analysis and pole loading checks.
- Prepare documentation, reports, and design packages for project deliverables.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and refine engineering solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
- Familiarity with design software like AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or PLS-CADD.
- Basic knowledge of design codes and standards, including NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and IBC.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
