About the role#
HBK Engineering offers a summer internship for students looking to gain hands-on field and design experience. Interns are an integral part of the team and work on assignments that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating.
What you'll do#
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve civil and electrical power engineering issues.
- Work with a team lead to coordinate detailed design phases.
- Perform utility infrastructure designs using standard engineering guidelines.
- Assist in leading efforts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate design activities to ensure installations comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
- Interface with vendors to prepare materials.
- Prepare reports and studies that present technical information.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a Bachelor degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering with at least one year of post-secondary education.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Working knowledge of computer application software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Organizational skills for a busy environment.
- A 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred.
- Experience with CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Surveying experience, prior internship experience, or campus and community involvement are valued.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required.
