About the role#
R.R. Cassidy is hiring a Construction Management Intern in Beaumont, Texas. You will support project teams by maintaining job schedules and keeping project status updates accurate. This role involves working directly with superintendents, project managers, and foremen to gain hands-on experience in how utility construction projects are planned, tracked, and delivered.
What you'll do#
- Work with superintendents to build, update, and maintain crew, equipment, and material schedules.
- Gather daily and weekly job status updates from foremen and superintendents, entering them into project tracking tools.
- Prepare progress reports for leadership that cover completed work, upcoming activities, delays, and safety items.
- Maintain project files, daily reports, drawings, and field documentation.
- Follow up with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors to confirm deliveries and start dates.
- Support meetings by preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking action items.
- Visit job sites to observe work, learn processes, and verify progress while following all safety rules.
- Take on special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or technical program in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or recent graduation.
- Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple schedules and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working with field leadership including superintendents and foremen.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and a drug screen.
- Interest in the electric utility or heavy construction industry.
- Familiarity with scheduling or project tools like Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Procore is a plus.
- Prior construction or field experience is a plus.
