About the role#
As a Technical Writer Intern, you will support documentation, process standardization, and communication efforts within our manufacturing operations. You will work alongside engineering, production, quality, maintenance, and safety teams to create and maintain clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation for plant operations.
What you'll do#
- Create, edit, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, equipment manuals, safety documentation, training materials, and process flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, operators, and quality personnel to gather technical information.
- Observe manufacturing processes on the production floor to accurately document procedures and workflows.
- Convert complex technical information into clear and concise instructions for plant personnel.
- Update existing documents to reflect process, equipment, or compliance changes.
- Assist with document control and revision tracking.
- Support continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives through improved documentation and process clarity.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

- Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Pay: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour.
