About the role#
The Low-Power AI, Audio, and Sensors Subsystem team designs, verifies, and implements hardware that allows devices to hear, see, and interact with the world. This hardware powers everything from Snapdragon mobile processors to wearable technology, AR and VR headsets, and automotive infotainment systems. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers on the design, verification, and modeling of ASIC hardware IP blocks and subsystems.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to RTL (Verilog) design for next-generation Snapdragon Display Processors.
- Integrate external IP and design interfacing logic for the Display Subsystem.
- Use industry-standard CAD tools for RTL linting, power analysis, and CDC analysis.
- Optimize display designs to meet specific power, area, and performance targets.
- Use Python to automate manual processes and develop new design tools.
- Own IP core-level feature verification through C/RTL and gate-level simulations.
- Develop and execute test plans, maintain test benches, and build functional coverage models.
- Participate in debug activities throughout the development cycle.
- Work with sub-micron technology nodes and learn advanced verification methodologies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least one semester of university remaining after the internship concludes.
- You must not be graduating before the internship begins.
- Proficiency in a programming language and scripting, specifically C, C++, and Python.
- Knowledge of digital circuits and computer hardware, including caches, busses, memories, and clocking.
- Experience with Object Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with UVM, SVTB, System Verilog, I2S/PCM protocols, and FPGA fundamentals is preferred.
- Experience with lab equipment like oscilloscopes and knowledge of digital signal processing or machine learning mathematics is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027 start (12 or 16-month duration).
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
