About the role#
The Qnity Operator Internship Program offers students hands-on experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. This paid internship is designed for students currently enrolled in technical associate or chemical operator certificate programs. Interns will work between 128 and 200 hours over a 10-week period, with schedules coordinated around academic commitments. Weekends and holidays are off.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and operate complex processes, equipment, and facilities.
- Collect and analyze samples to verify that products meet quality requirements.
- Manufacture, troubleshoot, and make corrections to products following established procedures.
- Operate manufacturing machinery, including roll-good equipment, lathes, and nips.
- Perform product quality inspections using testing equipment and escalate any abnormalities.
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems and drive continuous improvements.
- Participate in shift turnover meetings, problem-solving sessions, and training events.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and follow production schedules.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a technical associate or chemical operator certificate program.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior work experience in an industrial environment, such as manufacturing or warehousing, is preferred.
- Strong creative problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to speak and write in a professional manner.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including data entry and MS Office tools.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures and humidity.
