The Qnity Operator Internship Program provides students with hands-on experience and industry exposure within the semiconductor manufacturing sector. This paid, full-time internship is designed for students currently enrolled in technical associate or chemical operator certificate programs. Interns will work between 128 and 200 hours over a 10-week period, with schedules coordinated around academic requirements. Weekends and holidays are off.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and operate complex processes, equipment, and facilities.
- Safely manufacture, troubleshoot, and make corrections to products following established procedures to ensure quality and production requirements are met.
- Collect and analyze samples to verify that products meet specifications.
- Operate production machinery, including nips, rollers, and lathes.
- Perform product quality inspections using testing equipment and escalate any abnormalities.
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems and drive continuous improvements that deliver business value.
- Participate in area performance excellence through active engagement in shift turnover meetings, problem-solving sessions, and training events.
- Follow team standards for housekeeping, preventative maintenance, and production schedules.
What you'll need#
- Must be enrolled in a technical associate or chemical operator certificate program at the time of the internship.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior work experience in an industrial environment, such as manufacturing or warehousing, is preferred.
- Strong creative problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to speak and write in professional language.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office and accurate data entry.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment, manufacturing machinery, and basic hand tools.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing stairs and ladders, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperature and humidity and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
