The Qnity Operator Internship Program provides students with hands-on experience and industry exposure within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship with a rolling term. The program is designed for students to work between 128 and 200 hours over a 10-week period while attending classes, with weekends and holidays off.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and operate complex processes, equipment, and facilities, including machinery used for roll-good material production.
- Safely manufacture, troubleshoot, and make corrections to products according to established procedures to meet quality and production requirements.
- Collect and analyze samples, perform product quality inspections using testing equipment, and verify that products meet specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems, participate in shift meetings, and drive continuous improvements to deliver business value.
- Complete all training and administrative requirements while adhering to the company Code of Conduct and site policies.
- Maintain housekeeping standards, perform preventative maintenance, and follow production schedules.
- Operate mobile equipment, such as fork trucks, and handle chemicals and materials safely.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technical associate or chemical operator certificate program.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior work experience in an industrial environment, such as manufacturing or warehousing, is preferred.
- Strong creative problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to speak and write in professional, respectful language.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools and the ability to perform accurate data entry.
- High attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and manual dexterity.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, climbing stairs/ladders, and working in varying temperatures and humidity.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and quality protective equipment (QPE).
