About the role#
We are looking for outgoing and thoughtful people to join our North Hollywood fundraising team. You will represent international human rights and humanitarian organizations by engaging the public in face-to-face conversations. This role is a fit for those interested in advocacy, nonprofit work, and community organizing who want to build skills in persuasive communication and public speaking.
What you'll do#
- Start conversations with new people and build genuine rapport.
- Learn the details of the nonprofit campaign you are representing.
- Explain complex social and humanitarian issues in a clear, engaging way.
- Ask members of the public to support the organization through monthly donations.
- Work alongside a fundraising partner and field team.
- Practice your approach and apply regular coaching.
- Work toward clear, measurable fundraising goals.
What you'll need#
- You are 18 years or older and legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- You can confidently lead detailed conversations in English.
- You enjoy talking with new people and communicate with warmth and personality.
- You care about nonprofit, humanitarian, or human rights issues.
- You can explain complicated ideas in a way people understand.
- You prefer active work over sitting behind a desk.
- You can handle hearing no without losing motivation.
- You are comfortable being coached and trying new approaches.
- You are dependable and can commit to full shifts.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time position based in North Hollywood, California.
- You will meet at a central location in North Hollywood and travel with your team to rotating outreach locations throughout the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles area.
- The role requires a minimum commitment of three full 7-hour shifts per week.
- While no specific degree is required, this role is often a match for students and graduates in Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Communications, or Marketing.
