About the role#
As an intern on the External Manager Selection and Monitoring team, you will work at the intersection of finance and technology. You will apply AI capabilities to help make investment processes more insightful and efficient. You will work alongside investment professionals to turn manual research, due diligence, and monitoring tasks into intelligent systems. This is a hands-on role where you will own projects from start to finish and see your tools influence live investment decisions.
What you'll do#
- Identify pain points in the investment process and prototype solutions.
- Develop AI-enabled tools and workflows to improve research, manager screening, and portfolio monitoring.
- Automate recurring quantitative and qualitative analyses, such as peer comparisons and risk monitoring.
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs to ensure they are accurate and supported by evidence.
- Partner with professionals across the firm to gather requirements and drive the adoption of your solutions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Master’s program in Financial Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Hands-on experience with AI and automation technologies.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Programming skills in Python and SQL, along with experience using data-visualization tools.
- A strong interest in investing, financial markets, and institutional portfolio management.
- Ability to communicate in both English and French, or a willingness to learn.
- Must have the legal right to work in Canada for the duration of the internship.
