About the role#
As an intern on the quantum architecture team, you will contribute to the development of a full-stack quantum computing architecture. This role focuses on moving quantum computing from a theoretical concept to a functional technology. You will work on projects involving linear optical networks, fusion-based quantum computing, fault tolerance, decoding methods, and logical architecture.
What you'll do#
- Develop and study methods for fault-tolerant fusion-based quantum computing.
- Model how errors originate and propagate within systems.
- Simulate and benchmark different protocols.
- Document and communicate your research findings to the team.
What you'll need#
- You are currently enrolled in or have completed a Ph.D. program.
- A degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
- Knowledge of quantum information.
- Experience programming in Python, C++, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with at least one of the following: quantum networks, graph states, stabilizer methods, quantum error-correcting codes, linear optical quantum computing, error modelling, or graphical calculus.
- Competent use of collaborative software development tools like GitHub.
- A creative and adaptable approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Positions are available in Palo Alto, California, and remotely.
- Internships follow a rolling schedule with durations ranging from 3 to 6 months.
- Please note that we do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
