About the role#
Prairie State Generating Company offers a summer internship for students interested in Information Technology. This program provides exposure to the technology used in coal mining and power generation operations. You will gain industry experience through hands-on training and work with professionals in the field.
What you'll do#
- Provide hands-on support for IT infrastructure, including software, hardware, and desktop systems.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance throughout the program.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college degree program for Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Good academic standing.
- Availability for a 12-week program from late May to mid-August.
- Ability to communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors.
- Ability to read and understand operating procedures and Safety Data Sheets.
- Comfort working with computers and related technology.
- Ability to work unsupervised when necessary.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, reach, stoop, and lift boxes up to 25 pounds.
- Knowledge of safety and health hazards related to job assignments.
