About the role#
Prairie State Generating Company offers a paid summer internship for students interested in communications within the energy industry. You will gain hands-on training and work directly with professionals in the field during this 12-week program.
What you'll do#
- Draft internal and external communications, including social media posts.
- Write articles based on information gathered through interviews.
- Create public relations materials such as newsletters, infographics, and videos.
- Assist with company events and initiatives.
- Support human resource functions related to organization and communication.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college degree program with at least your freshman year completed.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA in good academic standing.
- Preferred majors include marketing, communications, journalism, or public relations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand operating procedures.
- Ability to work unsupervised when required.
Location & details#
- Location: Marissa, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (Late May to Mid-August).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour for undergraduates and $28.00 per hour for graduate students.
- This is a full-time position.
