About the role#
The Engineering Internship at Posillico Civil provides field and office experience for students preparing for a career in construction. You will work alongside civil, mechanical, and environmental engineers on heavy highway and bridge projects. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support safety efforts by giving Tool Box Talks, leading daily huddles, and maintaining the Project Safety Manual.
- Conduct periodic jobsite safety inspections and manage the Hazardous Communication Program records.
- Coordinate One Call Center requests to prevent utility damage during construction.
- Perform daily quantity reviews with superintendents and foremen, entering data into the system and filing daily sheets.
- Monitor project progress by tracking completion on plans, reviewing estimates, and notifying managers of potential overruns or under runs.
- Manage project documentation, including correspondence logs, shop drawing logs, delivery logs, and subcontractor daily logs.
- Track asphalt and other major material deliveries.
- Enter daily payroll information by task and assist with productivity tracking.
- Maintain job records, track phase codes, and manage Requests for Information (RFI) to the owner.
- Assist with material purchasing, estimating additional work, and developing project look-ahead schedules.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or Construction Management program.
- An interest in heavy construction, such as site-work, roads, or environmental projects.
