About the role#
Point72 is looking for a Quantitative Research Intern to join our NLP quant team. You will work on end-to-end signal development, handling everything from initial data processing to performance testing and production deployment. We focus on applying recent advances in NLP methods to financial markets.
What you'll do#
- Construct features from various datasets using NLP techniques.
- Formulate research hypotheses to identify alpha.
- Build and test the performance of trading signals based on NLP and financial data.
- Launch signals into production.
What you'll need#
- You are a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD candidate in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in Python and general software engineering principles.
- Strong understanding of machine learning and statistics.
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to high ethical standards.
- An interest in financial markets and a positive attitude.
- Prior research experience is preferred.
- Experience with deep learning, specifically NLP tools like PyTorch, HuggingFace, and LLMs is preferred.
- Familiarity with the data science stack is preferred.
