About the role#
Point72 is hiring a Quantitative Developer Intern for the Winter 2027 term. You will work with our Internal Alpha Capture team to develop scalable quantitative equity trading signals. This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York from January to April 2027.
What you'll do#
- Build and enhance low-latency Java components like messaging handlers and market data parsers.
- Design features to support trade execution workflows and move research signals into production.
- Optimize high-throughput data ETL pipelines and SQL databases for real-time market data.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability under live market conditions.
- Improve infrastructure tools including monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
- Participate in training and mentorship to learn about production trading systems.
What you'll need#
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong Java programming experience with production-level coding and object-oriented design skills.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies, specifically Docker.
- Experience working in Unix environments and using shell scripting.
- Knowledge of Git for version control and experience with continuous integration tools.
- Ability to own projects from design to deployment while collaborating in a small team.
