About the role#
Pluralis Research is seeking a Research Scientist Intern for a 6-month position focused on Protocol Learning. This role is designed for PhD candidates who want to conduct novel research with the goal of publishing in tier-1 machine learning conferences, such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR. You will work with senior scientists and have access to significant compute resources to support your research.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to research in Protocol Learning.
- Author foundational papers in an emerging field.
- Collaborate with a distributed team to advance open, decentralized AI training and deployment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a PhD candidate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- At least one publication in a top-tier ML venue (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc.).
- Research experience in a core technical area relevant to frontier models.
- Strong theoretical understanding of deep learning and distributed systems principles.
- Proficiency in PyTorch and experience with large-scale training infrastructure.
- Professional-level English proficiency in both written and spoken forms.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, remote position.
- Hiring is limited to candidates based in Australia or the United States.
- Visa sponsorship is available for these countries.
- The internship term is rolling.
