Pluralis Research is seeking a Research Scientist Intern for a 6-month, full-time position focused on Protocol Learning. This role is designed for PhD candidates who want to conduct novel research with the explicit goal of publishing in top-tier machine learning conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR. Interns will receive mentorship from senior scientists and have access to significant compute resources to support their work.
What you'll do#
- Conduct foundational research in the field of Protocol Learning.
- Author and contribute to research papers for submission to tier-1 ML conferences.
- Collaborate with a distributed team on decentralised AI training and deployment methods.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a PhD candidate.
- A proven track record with at least one publication in top-tier ML venues like NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR.
- Research experience in core technical areas relevant to frontier models.
- Strong theoretical knowledge of deep learning and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in PyTorch and practical experience with large-scale training infrastructure.
- Professional-level English proficiency in both written and spoken forms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones.

- This role is fully remote.
- Hiring is restricted to candidates based in the United States or Australia.
