The Packaging Engineer Intern will support the Director of Packaging Engineering across multiple departments, including Purchasing, Marketing, Production, and Creative Services. This role focuses on the design, testing, and cost-optimization of packaging materials and systems to ensure product integrity for CPG, retail, and club projects.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, testing, and specification of packaging materials and protective components.
- Identify and investigate opportunities to reduce costs related to packaging materials and labor.
- Assist production and manufacturing teams in resolving packaging issues and implementing new products.
- Maintain development of structural packaging components, including secondary, tertiary, and bulk packaging.
- Specify packaging designs to ensure product integrity under various shipping and display conditions.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a BS in Packaging Engineering or a related technical discipline, or a recent graduate.
- Knowledge of food packaging material science.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- CAD literacy, including competence in AutoCAD or equivalent software.
- Proficiency in TOPS/CAPE or equivalent palletization software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
