About the role#
The Medical Assistant/Scribe GAP Student supports dermatology physicians by managing patient care and documentation. You will work with a team to handle up to 40 patients per day. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling start date. You will work Monday through Thursday, with 10-hour shifts.
What you'll do#
- Document patient histories, including HPI, medical, surgical, and family history, medications, and allergies.
- Prepare and assist with dermatological and cosmetic procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and laser treatments.
- Administer local anesthesia and remove sutures under physician direction.
- Perform scribing duties, including inputting templates and chart notes.
- Process prescription refills and manage prior authorizations.
- Manage pathology samples and coordinate with laboratories.
- Operate specialized equipment like Narrowband UVB units.
- Maintain sterile techniques, clean exam rooms, and stock supplies.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 0 to 3 years of medical assistant experience, ideally in dermatology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Current enrollment in Nursing, Public Health, or Biomedical Sciences programs.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Haverhill and North Andover, Massachusetts.
- Pay is $22 to $23 per hour.
