About the role#
This training program helps individuals gain real-world work experience across various departments at Phoenix - Huntsville Rehabilitation Foundation. Participants receive coaching, structured learning activities, and hands-on skills practice to prepare for future employment. This is a part-time position with a duration of 12 to 16 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative support and assist with office tasks like scanning, copying, filing, and sorting mail.
- Greet visitors, answer phones, and direct inquiries.
- Shadow staff during consumer appointments and observe job coaching or development activities.
- Learn about documentation, progress notes, and person-centered processes.
- Assist with basic computer tasks, data entry, research, and digital literacy support.
- Help prepare materials for meetings, workshops, and classes.
- Support special projects, events, and community outreach activities.
- Practice time management, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
- Participate in training sessions regarding workplace expectations, safety, and professionalism.
- Maintain organized workspaces and front desk areas.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or current enrollment in high school, college, or a vocational rehabilitation program.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate with others respectfully.
- Willingness to work in a team environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- If operating an agency vehicle, you must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and the required level of personal auto insurance.
- Ability to move safely around the work area and retrieve items from various heights.
- Physical stamina to work at least 4 hours per day.
