About the role#
The Energy Efficiency & Emerging Customer Programs Intern supports the evaluation and development of energy efficiency initiatives at Philadelphia Gas Works. This role involves researching national industry standards, analyzing customer data, and assisting with outreach strategies to improve program performance and customer engagement.
What you'll do#
- Research national gas energy efficiency programs, including program design, incentive levels, and marketing practices.
- Provide recommendations to support the design of future EnergySense and low-income weatherization programs.
- Research regional grant opportunities and maintain a catalog of supporting organizations.
- Analyze program and customer billing data to evaluate energy savings and recommend improvements.
- Refine marketing outreach databases and analyze campaign trends to inform future strategy.
- Assist in the development of communications materials, including drafting newsletters and social media content.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Graduate program OR a Junior/Senior in a Bachelor's degree program in Business Administration, Public Policy, Environmental Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and employees.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others while maintaining professional business relationships.
- Ability to commit to 15-20 hours per week.
