About the role#
Perryman Company is hiring a summer intern for our Safety team in 2027. You will work on-site to help manage and investigate safety protocols to protect our employees. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Develop individual projects in industrial hygiene, general safety, fire safety, ergonomics, and environmental compliance.
- Maintain records and conduct testing required by permits.
- Prepare samples, record test results, and document observations for Industrial Hygiene tasks.
- Inspect buildings and machinery to identify hazards and safety violations.
- Recommend safety features for new processes and products.
- Review plans for new equipment to ensure they meet safety requirements.
- Help facilities comply with Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.
- Develop or modify safety and environmental policies and work instructions.
- Conduct incident investigations and log them in the ETQ tracking system.
- Participate in safety committees at each facility.
- Work directly with Operators and Supervisors on the floor to solve EHS issues.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environment, Health, and Safety, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify, report, and correct unsafe behaviors.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
