About the role#
Perryman Company is seeking an intern for the Summer 2027 term to join the Environmental Health and Safety team. This full-time role focuses on maintaining compliance with environmental health and safety standards. You will work on-site at our facilities to ensure a safe work environment.
What you'll do#
- Develop projects covering industrial hygiene, general safety, fire safety, and ergonomics.
- Perform industrial hygiene tasks like preparing samples and recording test results.
- Inspect buildings and machinery to identify and correct potential hazards.
- Review plans for new equipment to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain records as required by permits.
- Support facility compliance with Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.
- Update safety or environmental policies and work instructions.
- Conduct incident investigations and document them in the ETQ tracking system.
- Participate in safety committees and coordinate with operators and supervisors to resolve EHS issues.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Capability to identify and report unsafe workplace behaviors.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.

- This position is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid internship.
