About the role#
The John M. Lilley Library at Penn State Behrend is seeking student assistants for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 semesters. This position is essential for maintaining library operations, supporting collection integrity, and facilitating patron access to resources. Shifts are scheduled around class commitments.
What you'll do#
- Assist library patrons at the circulation desk.
- Provide basic reference services to library users.
- Shelve library materials and maintain the integrity of the library collections.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Support staff in various library service areas.
What you'll need#
- Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Availability to work some evening shifts until 10:00pm.
- Availability to work occasional Sunday shifts.
- Open to students in Communications, Logistics, Business Administration, Psychology, or Sociology.

- Location: Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position at $12.00 per hour.
