The John M. Lilley Library at Penn State Behrend is seeking Student Library Assistants for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 semesters. This position is essential for maintaining library operations, supporting collection integrity, and facilitating patron access to resources and services. This is a paid, on-site, part-time role.
What you'll do#
- Assist library patrons at the circulation desk.
- Provide basic reference services to library users.
- Maintain the integrity of the library's collections through regular shelving.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Assist staff in various library service areas.
What you'll need#
- Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work some evening shifts (up to 10:00 PM).
- Ability to work occasional Sunday shifts.
- Availability to work weekday shifts beginning at 9:00 AM, scheduled around classes.
- This role is open to students across various majors, including Communications, Logistics, Business Administration, Psychology, and Sociology.
