About the role#
The College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State Extension is seeking a part-time Field and Forage Crops Intern. This position is based in Wayne County and requires travel throughout Lackawanna, Pike, Susquehanna, and Wyoming Counties to support local agricultural initiatives. This is a paid, part-time position scheduled for 30 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
What you'll do#
- Perform crop scouting and field data collection.
- Provide support for research trials.
- Conduct farm visits and provide client support.
What you'll need#
- Background in agricultural science, or a related field such as environmental engineering or biology.
- Access to a motor vehicle for travel between sites.
- Ability to pass a standard background check.
- Ability to pass a motor vehicle screening, as this role requires operating a vehicle.

- Location: Pennsylvania (based in Wayne County with travel to surrounding counties).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.75 per hour, plus travel reimbursement.
