Engineering Intern

About the role#

This Engineering Intern position is based in Calgary, Alberta, within the Facilities Development Team of the Engineering and Construction Unit. The role focuses on advancing development opportunities from initial concept through to FEED phases, delivering execution-ready projects to the E&C Execution team. This is a full-time, 4-month internship running from May to August 2026.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with project teams, Operations, and contractors, including participation in field visits, design reviews, hazard assessments, and 3-D model reviews.
• Support project scopes, including coordination with third-party engineering firms and construction specialists, and managing project delivery through the stages of the governance lifecycle.
• Identify and outline regulatory, land, Indigenous, and environmental applications required for facility construction.
• Assist project managers and engineers with day-to-day tasks, including planning and cost/schedule estimating.
• Support the company's 'Zero by Choice' safety culture, Life Saving Rules, and corporate values.
• Complete a final learning project and presentation summarizing your contributions and key learnings at the end of the term.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary program with plans to return to school in the fall following the internship.
• Preference is given to students who have completed at least the first year of a four-year accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
• Demonstrated reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn in a structured environment.
• Ability to commit to the full duration of the summer term.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
