Materials Engineering Student

About the role#

PCL Construction is seeking a Materials Engineering Student to join the MELLOY Industrial Services Inc. team in Nisku, Alberta. This is a full-time, paid internship opportunity for students available for an 8 or 12-month term starting in September 2026. You will work under the direct supervision of the Materials Manager.

What you'll do#

• Manage project information by using and maintaining PCL and external client systems.
• Maintain inventory levels for commonly ordered materials and supplies.
• Expedite orders and oversee the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of inventory.
• Ensure all administrative and physical tasks related to inventory management are completed.
• Adhere to all PCL safety practices and protocols.
• Assist with additional project-related duties as required.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary Engineering program, including Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering.
• A strong interest in working within a construction environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on maintaining positive client relationships.
• Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as determined by the project.
• Ability to provide your own CSA-approved steel-toed boots.
• Ability to pass a pre-access alcohol and drug test.
