About the role#
PCL Construction is seeking a Materials Engineering Student to join the MELLOY Industrial Services Inc. team in Nisku, Alberta. This is a full-time, paid internship opportunity for students available for an 8 or 12-month term starting in September 2026. You will work under the direct supervision of the Materials Manager.
What you'll do#
- Manage project information by using and maintaining PCL and external client systems.
- Maintain inventory levels for commonly ordered materials and supplies.
- Expedite orders and oversee the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of inventory.
- Ensure all administrative and physical tasks related to inventory management are completed.
- Adhere to all PCL safety practices and protocols.
- Assist with additional project-related duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary Engineering program, including Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering.
- A strong interest in working within a construction environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on maintaining positive client relationships.
- Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as determined by the project.
- Ability to provide your own CSA-approved steel-toed boots.
- Ability to pass a pre-access alcohol and drug test.
