Engineering Student

About the role#

PCL Construction is seeking Engineering Students for the Canadian Industrial Division to work on-site near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to challenging construction projects while gaining professional experience in a supportive environment. The position is available for 4 or 8-month terms starting in September 2026.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and cost control.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate changes with trades staff.
• Review project drawings and submit requests for information.
• Identify and resolve field technical issues.
• Conduct field safety inspections and act as an ambassador for safety campaigns.
• Maintain project record-keeping and perform ad-hoc duties as required.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering.
• A strong desire to work in a construction environment; prior field experience is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Bluebeam is an asset.
• A self-motivated, multi-discipline mindset.
• Ability to provide your own CSA-approved steel-toed boots.
• Willingness to complete a pre-access alcohol and drug test.

• Work Modality: On-site.
• Terms: Fall 2026 and Winter 2027.
• Employment Type: Full-time, paid internship.
• Note: Shift rotation may be required.
