Business Development Student

About the role#

PCL Construction is seeking a Business Development Student for the Toronto District within the Canadian Buildings Division. This is a full-time, paid position based in Oakville, Ontario, available for a 4 or 8-month term starting in September 2026. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic business development and market growth through data-driven initiatives.

What you'll do#

• Support business development and new market strategy through research and data mining.
• Provide analytical support for the interpretation, analysis, and presentation of data using tools such as Salesforce.
• Evaluate public procurement platforms to identify new construction opportunities.
• Create custom reports and presentations to meet organizational needs.
• Conduct data cleansing, data filling, and benchmarking against independent sources to improve data quality.
• Participate in or lead various ad hoc initiatives.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing studies in Business Administration, Data Science, Marketing, or Economics.
• Superior trend spotting and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent computer, word processing, desktop publishing, and research skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding client and corporate information.
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop and sustain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to multi-task and work as an organized self-starter.
• Interest in understanding data analytics, emerging digitization trends, and their integration into business processes.

• Compensation: $19.57 - $28.69 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
