About the role#
PCL Construction is seeking a Building Systems Student for the Toronto District within the Canadian Buildings Division. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 term, with durations of 4 or 8 months available starting in September 2026.
What you'll do#
- Review contract documentation, including drawings and specifications, to identify potential delays or interferences.
- Establish documentation and communication systems with project management.
- Manage the shop drawing log for equipment and material submittals.
- Coordinate with trades to ensure timely submissions and review shop drawings before consultant approval.
- Develop and maintain installation schedules while soliciting input from mechanical and electrical subtrades.
- Perform quality control inspections alongside consultants and the Building Systems Coordinator.
- Assist with temporary services procurement and construction planning.
- Support project close-out activities, including commissioning and the preparation of operation and maintenance manuals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or Kinesiology.
- A strong interest in the construction industry and prior field experience.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet software, and drafting applications.

- Compensation: $21.37 to $31.33 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
