About the role#
We are looking for a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Intern to join our team. You will work alongside full-time analysts and the FP&A Manager to turn financial and operational data into the models, forecasts, and reports that leadership uses for decision-making. This role offers an immersive experience where you will build analyses that the business relies on daily.
What you'll do#
- Assist with preparing and distributing financial analysis and reporting packages.
- Analyze current performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Work with analysts to prepare sensitivity analyses on revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Develop detailed financial forecasts of financial statements.
- Pull, clean, and reconcile financial and operational data from multiple sources.
- Perform variance analysis, investigate the drivers behind the numbers, and summarize findings.
- Support month-end, quarterly, and annual budgeting and forecasting cycles.
- Build and refine dashboards that track key financial and operational metrics.
- Document model assumptions, methodologies, and processes.
- Own a specific project or analysis and present your findings and recommendations to the team.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including the three financial statements.
- Analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Confidence in Excel, VBA, MS Office, and Google Sheets.
- Familiarity with Cloud-based planning systems, NetSuite, and Tableau is preferred.
- Ability to work with large amounts of data to develop scalable reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Outstanding communication and organization abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information with honesty and integrity.
- A collaborative mindset, receptiveness to feedback, and eagerness to learn.
