About the role#
Pattern is looking for a driven Accounting Intern to join our team in Lehi, Utah. This role provides an immersive, real-world experience where you will work under the supervision of our accounting staff. The internship follows a hybrid schedule, operating full-time during the summer and transitioning to part-time during the academic year.
What you'll do#
- Shadow members of the Accounting department to learn daily operations.
- Assist with research, data entry, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Prepare journal entries and financial reports.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including account reconciliations and accruals.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and follow-ups.
- Analyze financial data and flag variances or discrepancies.
- Work with Accounting or ERP software.
- Gather and organize documentation for internal reviews and external audits.
- Take on additional tasks or projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting.
- Completed coursework in financial accounting, managerial accounting, or related subjects.
- An understanding of accounting and financial principles.
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups.
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative, trustworthy, and receptive attitude with an eagerness to learn.
- Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
