About the role#
Lila Sciences is building AI into the core of our Finance function. We are moving from informal experimentation to shipping tools that the team uses every day. This co-op role sits at the intersection of applied AI and corporate finance. You will work across the organization to identify high-impact use cases, build prototypes against internal data, and measure the results. The work you ship will be used immediately by our finance teams.
What you'll do#
- Ramp up on our existing tech stack, including ERP, FP&A, expense, and procurement systems.
- Partner with FP&A, Procurement, Accounting, and Strategic Finance to find high-value AI use cases.
- Build prototype tools using LLM APIs against finance workflows and internal data.
- Measure the time savings, accuracy gains, and adoption impact of each prototype.
- Turn ambiguous problems into shippable proof-of-concept tools.
- Document your findings and capture best practices for the broader team.
- Support the rollout of successful pilots from prototype to team-wide use.
What you'll need#
- Hands-on experience using an LLM API to build something beyond a simple chat interface.
- Finance or business coursework that allows you to partner credibly with FP&A, Procurement, and Accounting teams.
- Comfort learning unfamiliar business software and integrating tools against it.
- Strong written communication skills.
- The ability to scope ambiguous problems into shippable prototypes.
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree.
- Availability for the full January to June term.
- Exposure to forecasting, variance analysis, or financial reporting workflows is a plus, as is prior experience with ERP or procurement platforms.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- The position is full-time.
- This is a paid co-op term for Winter and Summer 2027.
