About the role#
The ITS Student Assistant provides technical support within the Client Support Office and CRC Walk-In Center. You will assist with level 1, 2, and 3 support tasks, helping both on-campus and off-campus users resolve their technical issues.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems on PC and Mac desktops and laptops.
- Answer phones and assist users with printing services, including replacing toner and paper.
- Troubleshoot mobile devices and perform password resets or account activations.
- Provide remote support and assist with tools like Portal, Blackboard, and email.
- Perform virus scans and removals using licensed and free tools.
- Support users with systems such as UKG, SAS, and SPSS.
- Conduct image back-ups, image deployments, and work on open-source software.
- Lead other student workers and complete specific tasks assigned by managers.
What you'll need#
- Mid to advanced computing skills and a basic understanding of troubleshooting methodology.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X.
- Basic knowledge of hardware functionality and replacement.
- Ability to multitask and solve problems efficiently.
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
- Programming skills, such as VB scripting or batch file creation, are preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Pleasantville, New York.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Rolling basis. You may work up to 20 hours per week during the school session and up to 35 hours per week during breaks.
- This position is paid.
