About the role#
Interns at Orbital Operations contribute to real, open-ended challenges that directly impact the mission. You will work alongside engineers across multiple disciplines to advance cryogenic propulsion systems and accelerate orbital logistics. Each intern is paired with a mentor to support professional growth while contributing to high-impact projects.
What you'll do#
- Solve complex technical problems related to space maneuvering and propulsion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on active projects.
- Apply engineering knowledge to support the development of cryogenic storage and thermal control systems.
- Contribute to the infrastructure for orbital transfer vehicles and logistics.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals.
- Demonstrated hands-on engineering experience through internships, personal projects, or team-based work.
- Proven ability to manage a complex technical project from conception through execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Location: Long Beach, California.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Duration: Minimum of 10-12 consecutive weeks.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
