About the role#
Join us as an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This entry-level position provides hands-on support to our I&E teams in Tulsa or Oklahoma City. You will gain experience in the midstream energy industry by assisting with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of systems that keep our operations running.
What you'll do#
- Install, operate, and maintain instrumentation including transmitters, transducers, fire and gas detectors, gas analyzers, and flow computers.
- Perform scheduled testing on ESD and safety interlock systems.
- Support the operation of SCADA systems, remote terminal units, DCS, PLC systems, and analytical equipment.
- Test and maintain operation technology networks and equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and analytical testing on compressors, engines, drivers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain low and medium voltage electrical power circuits, switchgear, and power distribution systems.
- Prepare maintenance logs, safety reports, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and loop sheets.
- Participate in job shadowing and assist with team presentations and knowledge sharing.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma and at least 18 years of age.
- Current enrollment in a relevant technical or related program is preferred.
- Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to take initiative and demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic, algebra, or statistical methods.
- Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of instrumentation and electrical principles is a plus.
