About the role#
As a Field Mechanic Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working on equipment at our natural gas gathering and processing facilities. This role provides practical knowledge in the maintenance and repair of critical infrastructure while you learn about our safety and operational standards. You will participate in job shadowing and assist with various technical and administrative tasks to support our field operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with mechanical work on fixed and rotating equipment, including internal combustion engines, natural gas-powered engines, and electrical drivers.
- Support the maintenance, installation, and repair of compressors, pumps, generators, turbines, valves, and electrical equipment.
- Service and maintain structural and mechanical equipment to ensure performance and reliability.
- Maintain and interpret work logs, service orders, inspection reports, maintenance records, pressure readings, and oil analysis reports.
- Learn to respond to dangerous or hazardous conditions, including performing operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline.
- Prepare reports, analyze data, and assist with the development of presentations and training materials.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma and at least 18 years of age.
- Current enrollment in a certificate or two-year associate degree program relevant to the mechanical or technical field.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles and equipment maintenance.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
