Omni Cares Intern - Purchasing

About the role#

The Purchasing Intern participates in the Omni Cares Internship Program, gaining hands-on experience in purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and vendor relations within a hotel environment. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role with a rolling term. College seniors may be eligible for the Leader in Development (LID) Program based on performance.

What you'll do#

• Process purchase orders and monitor order status to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Support the Purchasing Department by maintaining accurate records, filing documents, and updating purchasing databases.
• Review invoices, packing slips, and receiving documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Track outstanding orders and follow up with vendors on delayed shipments.
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules.
• Assist with inventory counts, control projects, and month-end purchasing audits.
• Research products, obtain quotes, and compare pricing from approved vendors.
• Participate in special projects and administrative tasks to support the department.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college, university, or vocational program in Business, Hospitality Management, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous office, hospitality, or inventory experience is preferred but not required.

• Location: Omni Las Colinas Hotel, Irving, Texas.
• This position is on-site and full-time.
