About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience with the Water Resources team during the summer of 2027. You will see how projects move from initial ideas to construction plans. You will work alongside engineers on tasks related to stormwater management, flood control, and watershed planning.
What you'll do#
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater and flood control projects.
- Create project designs using AutoCAD, GIS/ArcMap, and modeling software.
- Assist with technical analysis and the preparation of construction documents.
- Conduct research and write technical reports.
- Travel to job sites for field observation when project needs arise.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering, with a preference for civil or biological systems engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS is preferred.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Lincoln, Nebraska.
