About the role#
This is a paid internship program running from mid May to early August 2027. You will join the Austin software group to support the development of autonomous underwater vehicles. You will work with a mentor to apply your classroom knowledge to real projects while gaining experience in a professional engineering environment.
What you'll do#
- Develop software and algorithms for underwater vehicle systems.
- Test software in simulation, remotely, and on physical vehicles.
- Gather requirements and produce user documentation.
- Prepare technical papers, articles, and presentations.
- Collaborate with project team members and clients in meetings and daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Software Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Proficiency in C++ and experience with software development concepts like Object-Oriented Design.
- Knowledge of network programming and multithreaded programming concepts.
- Familiarity with vehicle control system concepts.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a team environment with shifting schedules.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
