About the role#
NVIDIA Research is looking for researchers to join the team for a Summer 2027 internship. You will focus on quantum simulation and AI, specifically working on bespoke quantum representations, tensor network methods, quantum surrogate modeling, quantum inverse design, and automated proving for quantum systems.
What you'll do#
- Research and build algorithms and software systems for the quantum computing ecosystem.
- Work alongside research and product teams in machine learning, programming systems, and quantum computing.
- Run large-scale experiments on GPU clusters.
- Publish and present original research at conferences and events.
- Collaborate with external researchers in the quantum field.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Quantum Physics or a related field.
- At least one year of research experience in quantum computing with a record of publications or patents.
- A strong foundation in linear algebra, quantum math, and tensor algebraic methods.
- Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, Tensorflow, or JAX.
- Experience with CUDA is preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Santa Clara, California.
- The term is for Summer 2027.
- This position is paid, with an hourly rate between 38 USD and 94 USD depending on experience and education.
